Position Summary
The Simulator Maintenance Technician performs all maintenance actions including troubleshooting for C-17 flight and maintenance simulators. This includes diagnosing and correcting complex problems on simulators, performing preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on simulators, and associated training and support systems. Utilize a maintenance management system to record and track all maintenance activities. Perform pre and post flight activities on all simulators. May perform visual alignments. May perform simulator testing and evaluate results of that testing. May assist during modifications and simulator enhancements. Will identify and coordinate efforts to correct training system deficiencies. Perform other logistics duties including managing parts, repair of parts and testing. May perform housekeeping functions within the simulators as required. May perform administrative tasks as required. Candidates must be flexible and able to work all required shifts.
This position does not offer relocation benefits.

Required Skills
Must have the technical skills and background required to operate, maintain and diagnose complex simulator problems. Must understand electronics and hydraulic systems associated with the training system. Must have experience working within a real time computing environment and the ability to identify, diagnose and correct complex technical issues with the training system. Must be able to coordinate those technical solutions with other experts. Must be able to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing and executing work assignments. Must exercise initiative in applying and when necessary adapting procedures to address both regular and unusual problems with the training system. Must be able to utilize test and support equipment associated with the maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of the C-17 Training System.

• Equipment used in performing duties includes general hand tools; general electronics test equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.); diagnostic equipment (hardware); and electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic power tools.
• Must be familiar with the ISO 9001 quality systems. Prior experience working on the C-17 Aircrew or Maintenance Training System strongly desired
• This position will have direct customer contact and candidates must be capable of providing customer support in a timely and professional manner.
Required Experience
Typically requires four or more years of related experience in electronics, engineering, flight simulation, or related military field(s). Directly related experience desirable. Technical school graduate or military service school in electronics or engineering desired.
Prior experience on the C-17 Aircrew or Maintenance Training System strongly preferred.

Must have current SECRET level security clearance, or ability to obtain an interim SECRET clearance.  Valid driver’s license required.
