Overview

The Aircraft Systems Software Engineer is a highly-motivated and self-driven team player that has the ability to perform in a dynamic prototyping environment. The preferred candidate has broad technical knowledge and a strong desire for innovation.

The Aircraft Systems Software Engineer reports to the Aircraft Systems Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and document software for flight simulator dynamic models for a wide range of business and military aviation platforms
• Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines to meet flight simulator regulatory and customer training requirements

• Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software/hardware enhancements
• Perform hardware/software integration & testing on flight simulator devices

• Assist in customer acceptance and regulatory qualifications of flight training devices
• Participate in engineering design reviews
• Keep current on future technologies and products to determine where and how such products can be incorporated into designs


 

Qualifications
• Knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics

• Background in physics-based modeling

• Proficiency with C/C++, Linux/Unix, and shell scripting

• Simulation industry experience is a plus

• Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills, especially with limited relevant information
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Travel required
• Ability to obtain a security clearance required

Education 
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or equivalent

• Three or more years of related experience
